Hello guys, this may be a very short post, but I've decided to re-upload the Small File theme in SoundCloud and Newgrounds for archival purposes. I originally deleted it when it was scrapped because I personally thought it was so bad, and I'm already working on a new version.

I don't really care about getting views on that theme and you don't need to hear it either, since like I said, it was scrapped and now I'm making a new version that makes me feel happy.

Hello Newgrounds community, how are you doing with your projects? I'm not sure how to respond, as I haven't stopped working on them, but at the same time I haven't managed to finish anything.

In the last few days I have been very busy with my school and personal activities, which has caused me to not have enough time to finish my music and art, and I'm very tired.

Lately I've been redoing the concept art for BioXARZ-2 characters since I find their style very rigid and it doesn't make me feel happy, since I always try to make my art look as stylish as possible and not be an eye sore, which has probably made me very perfectionist.

The year is almost over and I don't have time to say a poem, so I have to improvise.

I wish you a happy new year and I hope you have a happy 2025, without mistakes and failures.

YEAAH.

Since I was little I have liked video games and computers, and as expected, I always dreamed of creating my own video games and thus unleashing my creativity, but being a kid I didn't have much art skills and had to make do with Microsoft Paint quality sprites. Now that I'm a little older and obviously already with a knowledge in art, at least my sprites won't make the player laugh anymore, but what if there was an AI like Stable Diffusion? Would it have made my job easier?

In this post I will talk about the use of generative AI in the development of video games or other creative works, and thus analyze its advantages in development and conceptualization, and its disadvantages if it is abused.

Generative AI, a robot without a body but with hands

Unless you haven't been online for a decade. You will already have in mind what an AI is, and maybe you hate it or love it depending on your way of thinking. AI is a computer program created by humans for different purposes, which would be the writing of text or generation of images among the most common, but the term is not limited to just that and could be simplified into actions executed by a computer without the direct interaction of a human, as if it were a futuristic science fiction robot just like WALL-E.

An AI can be considered as a tool or companion for our work, since they tend to make mistakes very often just like a human, so it won't be your replacement or it will do your job perfectly. Don't leave a social network for such a silly reason, don't be a coward.

AI in development and conceptualization

When I designed the characters for BioXARZ-2, I spent days thinking about their design and personality, and who am I kidding, I had to modify it several times so that it wasn't generic and tacky. Anyway, there is no need to explain it but conceptualizing is the first step before making this idea a reality, and obviously it's not very simple, but AI can help us conceptualize our idea, of all is just a concept and that's it, not the final art.

Now talking about the use of AI material, it really isn't a bed of roses as it seems, since an AI is a tool and therefore requires human supervision, and severe retouching in some cases, in addition, it is always recommended that you use it from a local and personalized installation.

Will it take away our jobs and bread from our tables?

Obviously not, since AI is just a tool and a human with his own style can easily surpass it when we talk about quality, but on the one hand I could say yes, but not entirely, since multiple companies have been seen using AI to save costs, and in some cases it usually has good results, or a product worthy of a meme.

To simplify it and avoid being burned at the stake, many people value quality over quality, and others just want to win without spending a single cent, and this is nothing new and is not exclusive to AI, which could be compared to hiring staff in countries with cheap labor.

Conclusion

To end this post with a timely clasp, if you are a newbie developer or want to make an almost exact representation of your idea in a concept, I think it's fine as long as you put your own touches on the work or project, because after all, AI is a tool that can help us in our work if we use it correctly, but obviously without abusing it. Regarding the use of AI material, I will say the same as above, it is fine as long as you give it your personality and do not abuse it.

To avoid confusion, I never use AI to develop my projects, since I am a decent artist I don't need it and I like to challenge my limits, although it ends up exhausting me a little.

I am an artist and I like being one, despite not being my main job, I've seen many artists make money through commissions and we probably already know what they are, but do we know about NSFW art? Well today I will talk about this category and the danger or risk for artists, beyond an image.

I want to emphasize that this is just my personal opinion and is not a threat to your person or work, and you can even ignore it, but I recommend that you do not attack me or insult people who share my opinion, since I am an insignificant person and this post will probably not be seen by many people.

NSFW art and its artists

NSFW art is probably the most common thing on social media and it's not really because we like it, since it is the most common and best paid in the world of commissions, just like adult content and you know what I mean. NSFW art could be classified as art that breaks or could break the rules of platforms and social networks, either because of its violent or sexual material that may be disturbing to some people.

Artists who specialize in this art usually do so for several reasons, which would be money or the love of the forbidden, and we cannot deny that art is a way to express our feelings and we can say that its artists are not the best people, whether morally or mentally. Artists who do these types of commissions do not fall into this category, since they usually do it for economic reasons and it is probably not to their liking, and they are possibly the ones that are most affected by this art mentally.

Clients and their strange fetishes

Customers are always right and we must fulfill their wishes, even if it comes from the darkest place in hell. Surely we have seen the infamous foot fetish or the inflation fetish, but remember there is much more to it than this and I hope you don't run into one of them, since it will only make you see the decadence of humanity.

I don't understand why there are people who are sexually attracted to minors and I really don't want to hear their reasons, it's disgusting and it's not a sexual orientation, and you're probably wondering why I'm mentioning this? Well, many of these commissions have to do with this disgusting fetish and sometimes, combined with other fetishes such as excrement. The list goes on and on, and I would never finish if I were to name all these aberrations of the human mind.

Long-term results

Seeing all this, we can imagine the results they may have on the artist's mind, since unfortunately the most repugnant and unstable thoughts of humanity must become reality, just for a little money you will never be able to get those thoughts out of your mind. We must also remember that these clients are not the best people and can be dangerous, since they can reach harassment and death threats for different reasons, either by rejecting the commission, or for some peculiar reason.

It really bothers me that people with this kind of thinking are still walking the streets, since these fetishes often go beyond what is legally and morally correct, which leaves you marked forever and is really very sad, since the reason we become artists is to be able to express our dreams and thoughts in the form of colorful drawings, and it is not right to indulge the fetishes of a sick and disgusting person.

Conclusion

Writing this post made me feel sad and upset at the same time, but it only makes it clear to us that money, it is not everything in life and it will never eliminate or get those sick clients out of your mind, I have also seen artists who have taken their own lives because they could not bear it any longer, and really, leaves us something to think about. In this post I only spoke for the artists who make this category of art for economic needs, since specialized artists fall into this category and are really the same as their clients.

I have never accepted a commission and I never will, but if you are an artist and accept commissions, I hope you don't come across these types of clients and I beg you to never accept their commission, remember that it is better not to expose yourself to this type of people, since it could cost you dearly.

Well all know and are probably part of a video game community, but in this case I will focus on the creativity of the fans with the fan games or mods, and you may have heard of Pokémon fan games, in addition to the Friday Night Funkin' mods, which are one of the most creative communities in my opinion. Once seen this, we can think that allowing creativity is a very important and constructive factor for your community, but, why do some companies hate fan content and will do everything they can to eradicate it? And I'm not exaggerating at all, there are companies that destroy the projects of their fans and reduce them to a miserable client rather than a player of their video game.

Fans' creativity

Creativity is one of the essential skills of a human being, and we usually express it in different ways, composing music, draw a picture, or create an animation. These projects you believe or not, it is an essential factor in the popularity and affection of a video game, for example, why do you think the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise became so popular and loved by its players? And yes, thanks to the content created by its fans and SEGA's appreciation for its community, and I have a lot of examples of developers who really appreciate their player.

The contempt of some companies

The title may sound too strong, but you will see that it is not like that and you probably feel the same as me. Nintendo, one of the best known companies and possibly, the childhood of many, has made it clear that he hates fan content and will do everything he can to eradicate it, since could affect your sales and I will try to explain it with a list:

  • First of all, fan games are usually of a higher quality than their actual video games, as it's seek to innovate in mechanics and history, and not sell the same title with HD graphics.
  • Secondly, the developers of these wonders often have a greater appreciation for the community than the company itself, and I mean listening to the criticism and opinions of his players, in addition to publishing them in a decent state and not the atrocity of bugs in current AAA video games.
  • And last but not least, the creators of these fan games do it for the love of their favorite video game and we can see that in the quality of their projects, and even, are usually better than an official video game and I don't mean that in a bad way, if not in a constructive and healthy way for the community.

And in conclusion, it won't affect sales if you develop quality and totally original video games, since these fan projects are not and will not be a competition or threat to your brand, and eradicating them will only provoke hatred and that would threaten sales.

Appreciate fan content

Fan content is inevitable and unlike other things that are inevitable, it is very important to appreciate and value your players' time when creating these projects, as do it for the love of their favorite video games and to test their skills. Mods for many video games can be considered a video game depending on their type, since many seem to be a complete and quality video game, and this would be the case of Friday Night Funkin' and its wonderful mods, and how can we not forget their memorable songs.

Conclusion

To end this post with a flourish, if you are the creator of a video game and you see that your community has created their own projects out of love for your title, I beg you not to kill them, and I recommend that you better provide tools and tutorials to help fans create their mods or fan games without much trouble, in addition to being a good way to take note of opinions and criticisms regarding your title, and in turn providing many different experiences.

I would like to point out that the success of many video games is thanks to fan content, for example, Friday Night Funkin' owes its success to the large number of mods from the community and the support provided by its developers, and thanks to that, we know the names of many artists and composers who would probably be unknown without their mods.
